Hi! I’m Doris, a food journalist and chef from Hong Kong and Vancouver.
Welcome to Dozi Creative, my portfolio and creative platform.
A writer by trade, I’ve been writing for the last ten years, with work featured on ABC News and published in Huffington Post, VICE, Channel News Asia, South China Morning Post, Tatler Asia, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Airlines and more.
Outside of writing, food is my true love. My passion for food has led me to pursue a year-long culinary apprenticeship in the Lake District, UK where I worked as a commis chef and attended college. I graduated in October 2024, and I’m excited to continue combining my two passions.
I love supper clubs. I love learning about the effort behind effortless dinner parties. Bonding over how food brings us joy. Learning how chefs view food and build menus. Thinking about the art of hosting and how, when done beautifully, it can connect strangers, feed the soul and nourish the stomach.
My newest project, Supper Club Directory, is a creative platform that celebrates food, the art of hosting, supper clubs, and the people behind good plates.
Hosting IRL food events in Bologna, Italy.
Blog
I’m bringing blog posts back! When did they go out of style? Food and life musings on the places I visited, people I met, dishes I ate and feelings I felt.
01 Eating Brains
in Lyon
In exploration of Lyon, France’s culinary capital, and my encounter with brown butter calf brains. Creamy, buttery and… squeaky? Bon appetit.
02 The Urgency of Scones
I’m ashamed to admit the absolute grip scones had over my mood when I worked in the kitchen.
