This piece was my first-ever freelance commission that I pitched to HuffPost in 2019. In the article, I talked about my experience with filial piety, my relationship with my family and the financial stress I was facing at the time as a soon-to-be university graduate.

This piece gained attention within the Asian community on Facebook and had over five thousand likes and two thousand comments in the Facebook group, Subtle Asian Traits.

Two years later, the article was reshared and I was invited to share my experience on ABC News’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Bridging Generations panel talk. Watch the video below and learn more about my experience here.
